The Princess Project promotes self-confidence and individual beauty by providing free prom dresses and accessories to high school teens. Our effort is made possible through invaluable volunteer, donor and community support. Our San Diego Chapter has been helping teens since 2009 find their perfect prom dress. Over the past 10 years we have given away over 10,000 dresses. We hope to collect over 2,000 this year alone!

We Help Teens Grow In Confidence & Self Esteem

The Princess Project creates an environment that celebrates bodies of all shapes and sizes—our effort is intended to instill a sense of pride and confidence in the thousands of teens that we reach each prom season across San Diego, California. Our goal is to support individuals to discover and grow confident about their own unique beauty, inside and out.

  • When And Where Is The Princess Project?

    The Princess Project holds its Giveaway Events each Spring in preparation for prom season, usually in late March or April.

  • Are The Prom Dresses And Accessories Really Free?

    Everything is 100% free for high school teens attending prom!

  • I Don’t Live Near The Giveaway Sites. Where Can I Find A Dress?

    Visit the Events Near You to find out where to get a prom dress outside of the San Diego.

  • I Am Looking For A Tuxedo, But Cannot Afford To Purchase One At Full Cost. Is There A Place That Can Assist Me?

San Diego Gives 2024 - September 5th All Day Online San Diego Gives 2024 is a local year-round non-profit sustainability project that culminates in a Day of Giving! On Thursday, September 5 th The Princess Project will be participating in this special day of giving across San Diego County! We will be fundraising to support our Spring Prom Dress Giveaways and our Teen Ambassador Program! More information is coming soon!

Bridal Bazaar San Diego

Bridal Bazaar San Diego - September 15th 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM Stop by our booth at Bridal Bazaar to say hello! Bridal Bazaar San Diego's #1 Wedding Expo where guests can see and experience everything they need to make their wedding day complete. If you, or someone you know is planning their wedding and is interested in attending, they can register here for free tickets! We will also have an outreach booth at Bridal Bazaar.

2024 National Night Out

National Night Out - August 6th 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM August 6th is National Night Out! This is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. The Princess Project will have a booth at the San Marcos Sheriff Department, and we will be talking to guests and families that stop by about our mission, how to donate dresses, volunteer opportunities, and upcoming events! Kendra Scott Fundraiser - Thursday, August 17th Westfield UTC Mall (All Day Online & In Person 10:00 AM - 12 Noon)  Kendra Scott Westfield UTC has chosen The Princess Project San Diego to be their charity partner on Thursday, August 17th for National Non-Profit Day! 20% of all online and in-person sales at their UTC location will be donated to PPSD!
